CCC Visual Dispatch Systems
Receives BearingPoint Highly Commended Award
The Christchurch City Council Animal Control Unit's job management system
received Highly Commended awards in the Technology and Local
Government Categories of the BearingPoint

Franchise Based Job Allocation
at Hire-A-Hubby
90/20 has installed a QuickSwitch
based system at Hire a Hubby in Auckland. The system allows their call
centre to enter customer and job details and allocates the job to the
correct "Hubby" based on the street address of the customer
and the geographic area the Hubby franchise holder has. Simple messaging
or emails are used to alert the Hubby of the new work. The system saves
much time in looking up new addresses as well as cell phone costs of
verbally briefing a Hubby of what is needed. A spinoff is allso having
a written log or jobs and customer queries or problems.
JOB MANAGEMENT SYSTEM GIVING 30+% SAVINGS
Christchurch City Council - Dog Control. The systems based on VisualDispatch
and lookup.net platforms
installed last year are proving to be very successful with 30+% savings
in admin time and field worker productivity. The systems link to the
Council's GEAC GEMS billing system to access jobs created in the Council's
call centre. Staff there can access job updates and completion detail
as it happens via Internet browser screens. Field staff can also access
dog and owner detail 24/7, allowing stray dogs to be returned to their
owners, where previously they may have been taken to the pound.
DataCol Meter Reading Advances to a New Level
Datacol NZ Limited's 90/20 designed
and built job and contractor management systems went to the next level
this week, with the introduction of a sub-system using Palm Pilot PDA
devices to read meters. 90/20 provided project management, specification,
interface and data design to this project. DataCol's Grant Thomson said
that "90/20 excelled in meeting tight deadlines for our customers
that now allow us to read meters for more retailers without large up-front
costs of purchasing specialised meter reading handheld devices. We are
now getting a lot of interest for our system as it reduces cost and
complexity of data collection in a de-regulated environment."DataCol
is one of NZ's largest meter reading contractors who are continuing
to pioneer in the area of systems and processes to meet the changing
needs of electricity deregulation.
